writer. DIRECTOR. EXPLORER.
I'm a writer, director and producer working on commercials and feature films. In another life, I worked as many things, including at a furniture factory in China, as a seasonal waiter in Greece, as an English teacher, host of a travel show in Poland, and as a door guy in San Francisco's top comedy clubs. I've also mentored kids in jail, taught cinema in San Francisco, and I wrote a novel called Cupertino about delinquent youth. Travel, education, exploring new cultures are second to my love of telling stories as a writer and director.
My first feature film The Purple Onion as writer, director and producer, shot entirely in San Francisco, was called "a perverse, Asian-American, Napoleon Dynamite" and "masterfully crafted." It was a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the IFP Independent Film Labs. The film is distributed by Cinemation Studios and will be available on all major VOD platforms in April 2017. I continue to produce and direct commercials for a variety of clients.
I studied film directing at the National Polish Film School in Poland, where my parents emigrated from. I'm thankful to have two passports and speak fluent Polish. I received a BA in Humanities from Loyola Marymount University. My commercials and films have played on national television and has been selected at over two dozen international festivals. I'm a Berlinale Talents alumnus as well as the MacDowell Artist Colony Fellow. I've held full time producing positions at CBS Interactive and Stories International. I also founded my own production company Wolves Films prior to embarking on full-time directing.
